You know him.  You know you do.  Whether it’s Cliff Huxtable or Ghost Dad…Bill Cosby has been a comedy giant for generations, and tonight he is going to be at The Palace.

At 77, Cosby is still a road warrior.  Criss-crossing the country with his own brand of common sense, caustic wit, and family stories – Cosby brings countless laughs to countless audiences every year.  Not only is a comedy genius but he is also truly a living legend in the art form of comedy.

Breaking in the early 60’s out of Greenwich Village coffeehouse scene (the same scene that propelled Richard Pryor) with the classic show I Spy.  He then worked his way into the hearts of every kid everywhere with Fat Albert and The Cosby Kids – a cartoon classic that is still utilized as an educational tool in classrooms today.  It’s as synonymous with the 80’s elementary lexicon as Reading Rainbow.

And then we have “The Cosby Sweater” – a term that paints a vivid picture in your mind of the quintessential t.v. dad on The Cosby Show.  He was a no-nonsense provider with a sense of humor and heart.  The Cosby Show is undoubtedly one of the most successful t.v. sitcoms in history – with five consecutive seasons at #1 in weekly viewership.

Now, Cosby has no plan to go quietly into the night.  Last year he released his first special in 30 years, Far From Finished, and next month he is going to be releasing another special, titled Cosby 77.  As relevant as ever, Cosby will be circumventing the usual cable release of the new special – and like many other comedians is taking it directly to the people through a Netflix release.

The show starts at 7:00 PM, and Tickets are still available, they range from $49.50 – $71.50.

    About Brent Owen

Born and raised in Louisville, I have lived here most of my life (except during a short furlough, when I, lovelorn and naive, followed a girl to Baton Rouge). My roots are here, my family, my friends, and my life are all here. I work primarily as a free-lance writer for a few local and regional publications. I have also written two books (one a memoir, the other a novel) that barring some divine intervention, will probably never see the light of day. I find myself deeply ingrained in the local bar scene, or perhaps better said, I often indulge in the local drinking culture. I love music, movies, comedy, and really just about any other live performance art.
