Dave Stone is a veritable force in comedy. He is a fresh voice and wholly original performer as he looks at the world from an angle that few (if any) others can see. He’s got wit, intelligence, and one hell of a beard – and we are very fortunate to have sliding through town this weekend to do a show at Gallery K.
Stone comes from Atlanta, cutting his teeth on their celebrated comedy scene, preparing him to be a hard-working comedian, who is diligent in constantly improving as a performer and as a writer. Every joke can have another layer, a little more subtext, one more tag or punch line. He is a comedian most comedians admire because he puts in the work that most comedians won’t put in, which gains him the respect of more seasoned vets, and his peers, alike.
It wasn’t long before Stone left Atlanta and moved to Los Angeles. A city that seems like a world away from where he was born. Dave made his television debut on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson in 2013, and in 2014 was featured on season 8 of Last Comic Standing. Dave was selected to the prestigious "New Faces" showcase at the 2013 Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, as well as being named one of the "12 Comics to Watch" by L.A. Weekly Magazine in 2012. When not on tour, Dave can be heard voicing several characters on Adult Swim's hit animated series "Squidbillies" on The Cartoon Network. He was also a founding member of like minded comics known as “The Beards of Comedy.”
Laff Fest presents: Dave Stone will be at Gallery K Saturday August 29th at 8 PM. Tickets are available at the door and they are $5.
