2. Bourbon Barrel Foods makes every kind of bourbon barrel finished spice you can think of. There’s a store in Butchertown, a new one on Frankfort Avenue will open in January. Until then, you can pick up their wares at local Liquor Barns, A Taste of Kentucky, Evergreen Liquors, and many other locally owned retail shops, as well as their website.

3. Art Eatables makes the only bourbon truffles that match the cocoa with each unique type of bourbon. These are hands down my favorite bourbon candy around. They are available on Amazon or at their shop on 4th Street.

4. Whiskey books are a great resource for those wanting to know more about where their bourbon comes from. My top recommendations are Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey: An American Heritage by Michael Veach and Whiskey Women: The Untold Story of How Women Saved Bourbon, Scotch, and Irish Whiskey by Fred Minnick. Whether it’s a dinner and tasting like the one that will accompany the North American Bourbon and Whiskey Competition in January, A Filson event like the Salon at Oxmoor or the spring session of the Bourbon Academy, or an all-out weekend-long event like The Bourbon Classic in February, experiences make memories that last a lifetime.
