Day two got me like bourbon slushie where you at!? When it's 90 degrees and your sweat is pooling in your shoes, ValuMarket to the rescue! A delicious combination of bourbon and frozen Ale8 is the only cure. Well, maybe not cure, water works too, but bourbon helps you forget.

Hands down the show that had me and my bourbon slushies feeling even better was Sylvan Esso. Already a big fan, but damn she can sing! She's a boss. Her shirt even said so. I definitely laid down some sweet moves at the Ocean Stage (or at least the bourbon told me I did).

Sunday Forecastle is always the chilllax day it seems, but I'll be turning up for Speedy Ortiz since they canceled their show last year. I'm also stoked to check out Heartless Bastards, Washed Out and bourbon slushies. Oh, wait did I say that already?

Why couldn't this be the day that the clouds rolled in? It was so. hot. But I think it was all worth it for the religious experience that was Alabama Shakes. With a voice that does not belong to this world and soulful songs that are felt, not just heard, Brittany Howard and company gave a performance beyond words.

Teddy Abrams and Friends did not disappoint. Abrams filled the WFPK Port Stage with his own mini festival and brought out some of the most talented acts in all of Forecastle. It was really great to see how much of Louisville showed up, celebrated and lifted up the city's great talent.

Other great moments from the day?

-Hearing that a friend's phone was lost... and then recovered at Lost & Found (there is still hope for this world).
-Walking up to Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness's set and hearing an amazing cover of Relient K's "Dark Blue."
-Seeing that guy with the pineapple that Katie mentioned on Day 1.
-Finally making it into the Bourbon Lodge. Sweet, sweet air conditioning.
-Party Cove, located between Ocean State and WFPK Port Stage. I was only able to stay for a bit, but have to make my way back on Day 3.

Sunday's Forecastle is the day that I've been truly waiting for. If you've been near me this weekend, you've heard how excited I am for Brandi Carlile (8:30 @ Boom Stage). I'm also going to try to catch Anderson East, Joan Shelly, White Denim, Gary Clark, Jr., Death Cab, Washed Out and Ryan Adams. Hopefully, being this busy and drinking all the bourbon I can afford will help me to forget that it's going to be 91 degrees.

One of my favorite parts of Day 2 of Forecastle 2016 was the nap I took under a tree in Kentucky Landing. So peaceful, so relaxing. My other favorite part was Alabama Shakes, obvi. We're watching them now perform on the Waterfront, but one day we'll be watching them at a sold-out Yum! Center. My other fave of the day was the delish veggie burger I got from one of the amazing vendors. It was the perfect temperature, perfect level of spice and not dry at all (the trifecta).

Though I can't go to Forecastle tomorrow, I am really excited for those who are going. Ryan Adams is sure to put on an incredible show, and I'm hoping that he will throw in some of his brilliant Taylor Swift covers into his set.

My only regret of Forecastle 2016 is never finding a pizza vendor. (Ed. I think there's pizza at Mellow Mushroom's Mast Stage setup.)
