Angel McCoughtry had two very good games in her continuing role off the bench while Shoni Schimmel had two decent games.

Here’s a closer look at how the former University of Louisville stars, who now play for the Atlanta Dream, did in the 13th week of the WNBA season.

McCoughtry averaged 21.5 points, four rebounds and 2.5 steals in two games for Atlanta, which went 1-1.

First she scored a game-high 25 points in reserve in the Dream’s 80-75 overtime loss at New York on Tuesday night. McCoughtry was 9 for 16 from the field, including 1 of 3 from 3-point range, and 6 for 6 from the free throw line while also grabbing four rebounds and recording four steals to go along with one assist and five turnovers in 38 minutes.

Then Sunday afternoon she had 18 points off the bench again in Atlanta’s 73-67 win over visiting Washington. She was 7 for 15 from the field, including 0 of 3 from 3-point range, and 4 for 6 from the free throw line while also registering four rebounds, three assists, one steal and two turnovers in 26 minutes.

So far this season McCoughtry is averaging 20.2 points (which ranks third in the league), 5.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.1 a league-leading steals in the Dream’s 31 games.

Schimmel, meanwhile, averaged 10 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in a pair of starts for Atlanta this past week.

She had 13 points in the Dream’s OT loss to the Liberty on Tuesday. Schimmel was 5 for 14 from the field, including only 2 of 9 from 3-point range, and 1 for 1 from the free throw line while also recording two assists, one rebound and one steal in 26 minutes.

Then she had seven points, four rebounds and three assists in Atlanta’s win over the Mystics. She was 2 for 8 from the field, including 0 of 3 from 3-point range, and 3 for 3 from the free throw line while also recording one steal and committing two turnovers in 23 minutes.

Schimmel is averaging 7.5 points, 3.1 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 19.4 minutes per game this season.

Atlanta (13-18), which is in last place in the Eastern Conference but still alive for a playoff berth (barely), hosts Los Angeles on Wednesday night and Indiana on Friday night before playing at Washington on Sunday afternoon to close out its regular season.
