What is “Modern Southern” cuisine? Chef Allan Rosenburg, formerly of Papalinos and Cena Italian Trattoria, has a tasty answer to that question at his new gastropub, Fontleroy’s. Named in honor of Louisville Mayor James Fontleroy Grinstead, Fontleroy’s explores the hottest food trends with local and seasonal offerings.
This week’s best bite goes to Fontleroy’s Short Rib. Covered with smokey tomato sauce, pickled red onion and mustard seeds, the short rib is super-moist, packed with flavor and worth every penny ($21). It's perfect for avid meat eaters or those looking to cut back on carbs. Other favorites from Fontleroy's dinner menu include the steak and egg burger, duck and waffles, collard greens and mac 'n cheese.
Fontleroy's just released a new lunch menu that includes gourmet hot dogs, so stop in for lunch and try the chili dog. It’s a Berkshire Hot Dog with housemade White Chili, Pico de Gallo and Kenny's Jalapeño Jack Cheese.
Fontleroy’s is located in the old Uncle Maddio’s location on the corner of Grinstead and Bardstown Road.
