The simplest way to describe Eiderdown's offerings is European-inspired comfort food. The staff at Eiderdown uses French cooking methods to bring a modern twist to classic dishes. They're farm-to-table conscious: most of Eiderdown's meats, cheese and produce comes from local farms in Kentucky and Indiana.
This week’s best bite is Eiderdown’s Sunday Sitdown. The Sunday Sitdown is Barr farms roasted chicken, collard greens with sausage, grits and roasting jus, all for $20. Aptly named, this dish gives you all the cozy warm feelings of a Sunday afternoon or a holiday gathering. The chicken is tender, the roasting jus is on point and the grits are some of the best in Louisville.
Other notable dishes from Eiderdown include the duck fat popcorn ($5), beer cheese with pretzel sticks ($8) and the wiesn balls, fried spätzle and sauerkraut with Kenny’s white cheddar and sambal mayo ($8). Eiderdown is located in Germantown on Goss Ave.
