Run Run Rudolph 5k
Starts and ends on Jefferson Street between 5th and 6th Aves.

This run/walk kicks off Light Up Louisville, which is probably a rally in support of Kentucky's biggest cash crop. Proceeds from the inaugural event benefit the Baptist Hospital Foundation and its patient care and wellness services. The registration fee is $25 for adults and $10 for children under 12 and includes a t-shirt you can wear to show off how sporty you are.

Christmas is the time when my 3/16 Jewish heritage manifests itself. I hate the entire season. Anyway, there's a whole bunch of stuff going on downtown Friday that thankfully I'll be out of town for. My wife and I are expecting our first kid in late December, so I only have one more holiday season left for my disgust to be palpable before I have to start sucking it up. I plan on making the most of this year.

The monthly trolley hop has extended its hours for the start of the holiday season. Check out the hop's website for info on some of the special events going on this Friday--highlights include a Maker's Mark tasting at The Wine Rack and belly dancing at It's All Greek to Me.

The 3-1 third and fourth grade Razorbacks--fresh off sweeping a rare single-admission doubleheader last Saturday--are looking to have fun, learn basketball and win this weekend. Led by a solid inside-outside game, rebounding monsters down low and a brilliant coaching staff, the Razorbacks should be competitive despite not having a practice this week.
