    Bit to Do

Spring is trying to wiggle its way out of winter's final clutches, which means it's time to get excited about the F.A.T. Friday Trolley Hop again. The event, which takes place the final Friday of every month, just isn't the same when it's cold outside. Free trolleys take revelers up and down Frankfort, Mellwood and Story avenues from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Almost forgot: Oftentimes, free booze is in abundant supply.

Tonight, for instance, Evolve Consignments (2416 Frankfort Ave.) will mark its one-year anniversary with a free party featuring live music, a New Albanian Brewing Company beer tasting and food from Furlongs. Added bonus: Models will show off Easter and Derby fashions while riding the trolleys with the rest of us. At Elizabeth's Timeless Attire (2050 Frankfort Ave.), check out "Springtime in Kentucky: Fashions from 1930 to 1970."

Down the street, Kaviar Forge & Gallery is hosting "Light a Candle for Haiti." The plan is to donate 50 percent of handcrafted candle and candlestick sales to Doctors Without Borders. It's worth noting that the Mellwood Arts & Entertainment Center (1860 Mellwood Ave.) has plenty of new exhibitions opening. And the restaurant It's All Greek to Me (2716 Frankfort Ave.) will have belly dancers performing. Gyros and exposed stomachs. Sexy.

Finally, Dressing Room Boutique (2836 Frankfort Ave.) will celebrate one year in business. Of course, the only reason I mention this is because free champagne will be available.
