    There's nothing like leaving work on Friday knowing you've got a three day weekend ahead of you. Somehow that extra twenty-four hours seems to stretch out longer than any work day. Labor Day weekend in Louisville is jam-packed with fun activities! 
    Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me!
    Now in its 17th season, Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me! is National Public Radio’s Peabody Award-winning quiz show. Host Peter Sagal leads a rotating panel of comedians, humorists and journalists, listener contestants and celebrity guests through a comic review of the week’s news. Contestants vie for the most coveted prize in all of public radio: a custom-recorded greeting by scorekeeper emeritus Carl Kasell for their voicemail.

    Mayor's Art & Music Series: Bonnie "Prince" Billy
    Enjoy the latest of the Mayor's music and art series, featuring the sounds of Bonnie "Prince" Billy. Held in the intimate setting of the Mayor’s Gallery at historic Louisville Metro Hall, these monthly performances showcase local and regional musicians and artists. Brown-bag lunches are permitted, but due to the historic nature of the Mayor’s Gallery, no outside drinks will be allowed. Louisville Water will provide Louisville pure tap at the performances.

    Sue Grafton Book Signing

    Def Leppard, Styx and Tesla
    Iconic rock band Def Leppard will perform at the KFC Yum! Center  with fellow rockers Styx and Tesla. The Louisville show will be among a few select U.S. performances following the band’s Canadian and European tour in early 2015.

    August Wilson's "Seven Guitars"
    After serving jail time on a trumped-up vagrancy charge, blues musician Floyd Barton sets out to win back his girl and reclaim his pawned guitar, hoping to make a new hit record. Set in 1948 in the backyard of a Pittsburgh apartment house, Seven Guitars follows Floyd’s circle of friends and neighbors—the play’s seven voices—as they spin a rich tale of the deck that’s stacked against them, what they’ve lost and all they dream.

    Celebrate the world at this four day international festival featuring three stages and more than 150 booths showcasing food, spirits and crafts. A parade, children's activities and a naturalization ceremony will also take place.

    The September Flea Off Market
    This month's Flea Off Market features a multitude of hand-made items including musical instruments, jewelry, clothing, accessories, soaps, terrariums, and a variety of local fine arts and crafts. Also featured will be farm-fresh goods, vintage clothing, records, books, antiques, curiosities, tons of cool used stuff, not to mention great music and live entertainment.

    Kentucky Bluegrass and Bourbon Experience

    Good Garbage's $5 First Friday Craft Night
    During the First Friday Trolley Hop, enjoy some crafting! Good Garbage supplies the materials for each month's project. It's free-form, no direct instruction. You are welcome to bring adult beverages and/or your dinner.

    Louisville vs. Auburn Watch Party
    Can’t make it to Atlanta this weekend to watch the Cards take on the Tigers? No worries! Join Fourth Street Live! for the Official University of Louisville Game Watch hosted by ESPN Louisville. The tailgate starts at noon, with the Deener Show live on stage with special guest Louisville Legend Marques Maybin. There will be a cornhole tournament at 1:30, along with contests, giveaways, inflatables, and the Louisville cheerleaders! Grilled-out hotdogs and burgers  will be available all afternoon with the game on Fourth Street Live!'s 20-foot LED screen! Be sure to stay after the game ends for the after party concert with Soul Circus! Don’t miss CARDS Live! on Fourth Street Live!

    48th Kentuckiana Cat Club Championship Cat Show
    Affiliated with the American Cat Fanciers Association, this annual show is open to registered purebred and household cats in separate categories. Cat lovers and families are invited to watch these felines showcase their grace.

    Battle of Broadway — Sondheim vs Webber
    Broadway vets Pamela Myers and Jessica Hendy dish about Stephen Sondheim and Andrew Lloyd Webber and deliver stand out songs from their hit musicals accompanied by the KSO. Bring a blanket or lawn chair. Suggested donation $5.00 per person. Picnics welcome, concessions available.

    Nitrogen Ice Cream Sample Night
    Join The Arctic Scoop for tasting the freshest ice cream around! The Arctic Scoop is a locally owned mom and pop shop dedicated to making the best ice cream and Yogurt. Our desserts are made from scratch right before your eyes. We use liquid nitrogen to flash freeze, so not only do you get the best cream, you get a science show.     Outsized Influence Festival 2015
     Outsized Influence Festival will be bring out even more bands with some awesome Bellarmine talent. Add in some food trucks and Bellarmine art and this will be a terrific FREE festival. There will also be live visuals from Spettra and food trucks on site from the Louisville Street Food Alliance. Here's the 2015 Outsized Influence Festival Lineup!

    Three Points Block Party Featuring 1200
    Celebrate the completion of Three Points and help them fundraise for more public art in our communities! MUSIC, FOOD, BOOZE, ART, AND MORE!! There will be an unveiling of the preliminary designs for two murals that will be completed in 2016!
    There will also be artists painting during the event and guests will be able to silently bid on the artists' work. Proceeds go to the artists and the Three Points fundraiser! Artists featured include: Henry Cunningham, Braylyn Rosco Stewart, Damon Thompson, Robby Burgess, Ben McCloud, and Sam Mattingly.The block party will be outside in the lot adjacent to Three Points (Save-a-lot/Derby Dental). The lineup for ths block party includes 1200, Counterfeit Money Machine, and B R E N D A.

    Labor Day Weekend at O'Bannon Woods State Park
    Come join us at the Hickory Hollow Nature Center for a weekend of fun. The aroma of food cooking over an open fire fills the air as does the ringing of the blacksmith's hammer striking the anvil. There will be demonstrations on lye soap making, spinning, cooking, woodworking, tomahawk throwing, music and Native American life. See how hay bales were made in the mid-1800's using oxen and an original operational haypress, a fascinating look at pioneer life.

    Jeffersonville Steamboat Days
    The Steamboat Days Festival is a community celebrations with a focus on the arts, entertainment and a commitment to family friendliness. Several activities will kick the festival off on Friday including a balloon glimmer and live entertainment on the Jeffersonville Riverstage. A parade, food vendors, artists booths, live art demonstrations and more major entertainment will be scheduled for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. You can find a schedule of events here!

    Discover the Niña and the Pinta
    Replicas of Christopher Columbus' the Niña and Pinta are touring together as sailing museums for the purpose of educating the public. They will be at the Waterfront through Labor Day.
    When: September 3, 4, 5, 6, 9 - 6 p.m. September 7 10 - 5 p.m.

    Cost: Adults $8, seniors $7 children between the ages of 5-16 are $6, 4 and under are free

    Come out to a FREE day of fun for the entire family! There will be carnival games, sno-cones, inflatables, water slides, arts and crafts and pony rides. Food items will be available for $1 or less. This event will be held at all Southeast Christian campuses: Blankenbaker, Indiana, Oldham, and Southwest.

    Subway Fresh Fit Hike, Bike and Paddle
    The Subway Fresh Fit Hike Bike & Paddle is an annual event held every Memorial and Labor Day.  Thousands of participants flock to Waterfront Park to enjoy a morning full of fun.  Bring the entire family for this free, healthy hometown event.  Various fitness demonstrations start the day including yoga, tai chi, zumba, pickleball, NIA and much more.  There are numerous vendor booths available for information and giveaways.  After all of that, take your pick from a 5k hike, 10-mile bike ride or a paddle on the Ohio River. Click here to learn more!

    Kentucky Flea Market's Labor Day Spectacular
