    SHINE A LIGHT ON LUNG CANCER
    Shine a Light on Lung Cancer is an annual event founded by a lung cancer survivor and caregiver. It is the largest coordinated awareness event for Lung Cancer in the United States. Shine a Light on Lung Cancer events provide hope, inspiration and support for all of those touched by lung cancer.

    THE BOOTLEGGER'S BASH
    Be transported back to the 1920's for a Gatsby-inspired speakeasy party! Enjoy dinner and then dance the night away with a live jazz band! Try one of the period-inspired signature cocktails and bid on some of the silent auction items. Dress up in your best 1920's attire and try to win the "best dressed" prize! The Bootlegger's Bash is an evening of fun and entertainment that benefits local childhood cancer charity Hope From Harper. Hope From Harper benefits children and their families who are battling pediatric cancer.

    PURSES, POUTS & PEARLS LOUISVILLE
    This second annual event in Louisville benefits the amazing work of the American Cancer Society. The evening includes bingo for up to ten designer handbags, a silent auction for high-end items, gift bags, light bites and signature cocktails.

    2015 OUT OF THE DARKNESS WALK
    The Out of the Darkness Walk for suicide prevention and mental health awareness is held to raise awareness of mental health issues. It is sponsored by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and Louisville's Metro AFSP Chapter.

    BLACKSMITH TOOL-MAKING WORKSHOP
    At this weekend workshop, students will learn blacksmithing techniques while creating their own tools to take home, such as punches, hammers, and chisels. Various kinds of tool steel, heating, and tempering will all be learning topics. Class sessions are held at the Forge behind the Kaviar Forge & Gallery on Frankfort Avenue. Students are expected to have their own safety equipment: gloves, leather shoes, eye protection, and ear protection are required. The Forge does supply all needed tools and materials for each project but you are welcome to bring your own.

    LOUISVILLE ARTISANS GUILD HOLIDAY SHOWCASE
    The Louisville Artisans Guild's annual Holiday Showcase offers a wide range of fine arts and crafts by juried guild members and special guest artists from around the region including paintings, pottery, fiber art, sculpture, photography, glass art, jewelry and woodcraft.

    BBC'S 22ND ANNIVERSARY PARTY AND HALFWAY TO DERBY CITY BREWFEST
    Party like it's 1993! BBC will have retro beers for their 22nd anniversary. Come enjoy some of the beers that launch craft beer in Louisville. This weekend is also the Halfway to Derby City Brewfest: three bands will be playing: Whiskey Bent Valley Boys at 6 p.m. Uncommon Houseflies at 8:30 p.m. and Audio Addiction iat 10 p.m. There will  also be games, Comfy Cow ice cream with BBC root beer and bouncies for kids, dog supplies and adoption booths, and silent auction items to benefit My Dog Eats First.

    27TH ANNUAL CEDAR LAKE GALA
    This black-tie affair is themed "There’s No Place Like Home" and will include a dual-entree dinner, silent and live auctions, a re-enactment of The Wizard of Oz directed by Megan Massie from Kentucky Shakespeare, and a performance by the Louisville Youth Choir. The night will be emceed by WLKY-TV anchor Karen Roby.
