Just the thought of Target gets my heart all a'flutter. Those orange shopping carts, gleaming white aisles and row after row of bath towels are enough to make me gaga. I go into the store for a roll of toilet paper and come out with $80 worth of stuff that I didn't know I had to buy...including cute little shoes for Jack and books for me.
So what could possibly be better than the coalescence of the worlds of Target and beloved author, Dr. Seuss?
Target stores across the nation are hosting a free celebration in honor of Dr. Seuss, otherwise known as Theodor Seuss Geisel. There will be games, prize giveaways and lots of other family-friendly activities. The highlight of the event will be a reading from Seuss' iconic book (and one of my very favorites) Oh, The Places You'll Go!.
The celebration will take place this Saturday, February 27th, from 9-11 am. I checked with all Louisville Target stores (Bashford Manor, St. Matthews, J-town, Jefferson Pavilion and Springhurst) and each store is participating with the Dr. Seuss bash.
This event is a collaboration of Target, the National Education Association and Read Across America as a way to encourage more kids to read. If you'd like more information on the event, or want to download some worksheets check here for more details.
