While this week does bode well for music extravaganzas in our fair city, I'm a bit disappointed that I must remind you of Jeff Tweedy's 'solo' show tonight at The Brown Theatre.
Yes, that Jeff Tweedy. Of Uncle Tupelo and Wilco acclaim, as well as other solid bands, Tweedy has truly secured a spot amongst top American singer/songwriters. The bands he has fronted and been a part of are those that you can set your life-watch by. It's almost like a 'hey, remember that time we were in ________ and first listened to 'I Am Trying to Break Your Heart'?! I really knew then that I was going to break up with you because you hated that song.' Ha! Oh come on, I'm not a monster, but you've had to have had a similar experience to some degree. If you haven't you must roll out tonight, get more of Mr. Tweedy in your head, and likely just get out more in general.
Good news for some of you heads, is that the set lists I've seen and/or heard of have a lot of Wilco and Uncle T on them so even you 'purists' will NOT be disappointed. In me you trust, xoxo.
