Yes there is a '.' in the name. Yes the name of the band is Portugal. The Man. Yes you should grab the last remaining tickets for tonight's show!
Portugal. The Man has been around for a while now and if you've never heard them, or heard of them, now's your chance to get intimately acquainted. Having started pumping out albums, their latest 'Evil Friends' is the 7th in 6 years, in 2007 they've gained more acclaim as of late with a more mature sound which has taken some jumps like most bands with a similar studio arsenal. While some of their last album reminds me of a Passion Pit meets Grizzly Bear kind of vibe, the obviously Danger Mouse produced 'Evil Friends' crafts a more distinct sound similar to that of a Foster the People or maybe even the 1st Broken Bells album. It's groovy all around, fairly chill but some super snappy jingles and some even pack a little punch.
That being said I've never seen them live, hope to change that this evening and you should certainly check them out if your into any of the above bands, even remotely. There are still some choice seats and Thursday is the new Friday so no excuses really.
