    Bit to Do

Christopher “Chris” Tucker will be performing at the Louisville Palace for his self-titled tour this weekend, Saturday, January 17. Tucker, an American actor and comedian, is best known for his role of Detective James Carter in the Rush Hour film series. However, he has many other successful endeavors that led to his stardom. In the 1990s, Tucker became a frequent stand-up performer on Def Comedy Jam. He was noted for his comedy routines, and he eventually came to his film debut in 1994 on House Party 3. Tucker was cast alongside major stars, such as Bernie Mac, Marques Houston, and Khandi Alexander. He ultimately came to prominence in 1995 when he was paired with Ice Cube for the film Friday.

He then co-starred and acted as executive producer in Money Talks with Charlie Sheen. He also made an appearance in Luc Besson’s The Fifth Element. Finally, in 1998, Tucker got a role for the production of Rush Hour with action actor Jackie Chan. The film grossed millions worldwide, and two other sequels were created as a result. In 2006, he negotiated a $25 million salary to appear in the last Rush Hour film. This contract made him the highest paid actor in Hollywood at that time.

Tucker is a profound humanitarian, and he spends a great deal of his spare time traveling and working with his foundation. His most recent film appearance was in the Oscar nominated film Silver Linings Playbook with Robert De Niro, Bradley Cooper, and our very own Louisville native, Jennifer Lawrence. Lastly, his current stand-up comedy tour has received rave reviews all over the globe, and he will be in town this weekend to perform!

Tickets went on sale back in December, but there are still some that can be purchased here. The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. In order to pass the time, I would suggest having a movie marathon of nothing but Chris Tucker films. Here's a list if you need help getting started! You can also follow along on Chris Tucker's Facebook and Twitter for real time updates and VIP giveaways!
