From sunrise to sunset on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1, local artists will mark the beginning of the Season of Peace by painting a giant peace mural on the two-story western side wall of Amazing Grace Whole Foods and Nutrition (1133 Bardstown Road).

The mural will depict many of the world's recognizable peace leaders. There'll also be concessions and other entertainment.

According to a press release about the event, "The purpose of the mural is to create a central communication of peace in our community, because visual art is a universal language that transcends cultural, lingual and other barriers. There will be music, interactive art activities for families, and attendees will receive the global document, the Universal Peace Covenant, which states, 'We call upon each individual to create and foster a personal vision for peace.'"

The mural painting is the first of 11 weekly events to mark the School of Metaphysics's Season of Peace, which runs from Halloween (the end of the haunted season) to New Year's Eve.

To RSVP for the event, visit its Facebook page.

Other Season of Peace events include laughter yoga and an international potluck for peace.
