Divinity Rose is hosting a Sub Rosa: The Gypsie Courtyard reunion on Friday, April 27 at Bearno’s in the Highlands. The arts and entertainment showcase and networking event will feature poetry, comedy, music, and a short film.

Sub Rosa: The Gypsie Courtyard was a variety and arts showcase that Rose hosted from 2008 -2011; it became a support system for Louisville’s creative folks. She produced and performed in over 400 of these shows, which spanned  12 venues and 2 states while providing paid work, networking, promotion and valuable promotional tools to hundreds of visual artists, musicians, comedians, poets, fashion designers and carnival performers.  The showcase was weekly, but there was also  a monthly larger themed show with several hundred people often turning out for the show. Every show had open mic spots available in between the featured acts; Visual art was always on display. This show will be similar to the smaller weekly events and will serve as a chance for attendees to reconnect and catch up.

Rose ceased the showcase in spring 2011 to have a break and pursue more of her own writing and performing, declining many requests to bring the showcase back.  She occasionally hosts an occasional reunion, instead.

Bearno’s Pizza is located at 1318 Bardstown Rd. Sign up for the open mic portion of the night will begin at 8:30 pm and the show will begin at 9p.m. It will run until 2 am or when the performers are finished. Entry is free, continuing the tradition of the showcase.
