Louisville's Belvedere gets multicultural this weekend when it hosts the city's annual international festival. What better ways are there to experience another culture than eating its food watching its natives dance, and buying their chotchkies? Oh yeah--talking and listening. So put the schnitzel down for a few minutes and converse.

While "South Park's" underpants gnomes didn't have a phase two, Unconscious Collective organizer Andy Cook does. The opening of the second installation of his group art show, part of the First Friday Trolley Hop, includes Louisville artists who exhibited at May's inaugural as well as some new contributors. There'll be live music from Jaimee Duvall, Bro. Stephen and Gnuma starting at 9 p.m. and Derby City Espresso's usual delicious beers and espresso will be available throughout the evening. The exhibit runs through Sept. 30. Louisville.com will publish an interview with Cook tomorrow.
Frazier Museum's Founder's Day Street Party

The 100,000 square-foot museum that covers more than 1,000 years of international history is celebrating its fifth anniversary with a free family-friendly street carnival. Among the attractions there'll be food, games and inflatables (the website doesn't specify exactly what is going to be inflated). There'll also be a raffle for prizes, including a Crosley full-size iJuke Deluxe Jukebox and a Horseshoe Casino weekend getaway.
Kentucky Bluegrass Music Festival

Sept. 5-6, 5-11 p.m.
Eight bluegrass bands will be providing the ambiance as you drink bourbon and beer at the Kentucky Bluegrass Music Festival. The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft also is hosting a vendor market. Tickets are $6 before 6 p.m. and $9 afterward. Leave your food, drinks, and pets at home, but bring your lawn chairs, blankets and kids (10 and under are free). Louisville.com and Woodford Reserve are among the sponsors, which is kind of ironic as Louisville.com pays me and I just hand the money over to Woodford Reserve.
