If Friday’s zombie walk isn’t enough for you to get your fill of the living dead, then Saturday the 30th of August just might be a day to add to your calendar. Starting at 3 p.m. at Waterfront Park, people will come together for a game of Humans vs. Zombies that will surely help you fill your quota of the living dead.
If you’re unfamiliar with the Humans vs Zombies game, it’s basically a massive team-based game of tag. There is a human and a zombie team, with the zombie team generally starting off with only one or two members. Humans are allowed foam swords, nerf guns, and similar items to tag zombies, but zombies must tag humans by hand. After an hour (or shorter depending on the specifics of the game) the tagged human becomes a zombie and joins the other side. If a zombie is tagged, they’re out for fifteen minutes, but can then continue to play like normal.
Teams are indicated using bandannas, which you’ll need to bring with you if you attend on Saturday. Zombies wear theirs around their heads, and humans keep them on an arm or leg - both sides have to be marked, because you wouldn’t want to nerf gun some poor unsuspecting bystander, would you?
The group hosting the event, Derby City Tussles, is also going to be doing survival lessons and handing out prizes (presumably to the winning team). Parking for the event will be in the green lot - come on out and have a good time slaying some zombies with a wonderful view of the Ohio River!
Be sure to RSVP on the too.
