While we're recovering from a weekend full of epic ROMP action (hence the late post) and preparing for the reinstated Fourth of July celebration down at the Waterfront, we may have forgotten some great live music happening in between. Catch these shows while we’ve got ‘em, and then get out and enjoy the summer sun!

Tuesday (June 30) –
This experimental Atlanta band fits in perfectly with the wide array of musicians that have come through Zbar. They’ve been out on tour this year to showcase their newest release Blown Breeze, Grown Grass, and We Are Part of the Earth, an album full of strange, wonderful tunes.
Soulful, energetic, captivating: just a few adjectives used to describe SugarBad. Louisville favorites Small Time Napoleon will open for them. With these two groups, it’s pretty much assured that it’ll be a stellar show.
Saturday Night Soldiers & The Tunesmiths
Self-described as “jammy groovy fun music about graveyards and Cadillacs,” Saturday Night Soldiers will bring energy and entertainment to Portland’s Tim Faulkner Gallery. Louisville locals The Tunesmiths will also be at the Gallery, a very familiar venue for them (they hold weekly open practice sessions on Wednesdays).
Head out for a night of classic rock jams at the Expo Center. Before the show, party in the plaza outside the venue. There will be food trucks, corn hole tournaments and '70s/'80s trivia contests to get fans in the right mindset for the night.
Thursday (July 2) –
Cali Agents, Durag Dynasty, Replacement Killers, Lyric Jones, DJ True Justice
If a hip-hop kind of evening is your thing, you shouldn’t miss this event at Zbar. These rap artists are growing in popularity, so the full bill will certainly keep you engaged.
Saturday (July 4) –
Louisville Orchestra Waterfront 4th fueled by Thorntons
The Louisville Orchestra, Teddy Abrams, Ben Sollee, 1200 and the Fourth of July all in one evening. It’s going to be an epic reinstatement of the Independence Day festivities in the Ville. We’re incredibly excited for this free event.
Fourth of July Celebration with the Tunesmiths and Nellie Pearl
If being down at the Waterfront isn’t your idea of fun, head out to Portland for a folkier Fourth celebration. The Tunesmiths will be celebrating their third anniversary and release of Full Time Hustle. Nellie Pearl has just over a week left for their Kickstarter project that supports the recording of a new album - come to the show, and then help make it happen for this Louisville group.
