Angel McCoughtry had a solid week while Shoni Schimmel did too, albeit in limited minutes off the bench, for the Atlanta Dream.

Here’s a closer look at how the two former University of Louisville stars, who now play for the Dream, did in the seventh week of the WNBA season.

McCoughtry averaged 15 points, five rebounds and 3.5 assists in two games for Atlanta, which went 0-2.

She tallied a team-high 16 points in the Dream’s 86-73 loss at Seattle last Saturday night. McCoughtry was 5 for 11 from the field and 6 for 9 from the free throw line while also recording four rebounds, two steals and one assist against seven turnovers in 28 minutes.

Three nights later she scored 14 points (to surpass 4,000 for her career), grabbed six rebounds and handed out six assists in Atlanta’s 97-92 loss at Chicago. She was 6 for 17 from the field, including 1 of 3 from 3-point range, and 1 for 1 from the free throw line while also recording three steals, blocking one shot and committing one turnover in 29 minutes.

So far this season McCoughtry is averaging 20.5 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists in the Dream’s first 17 games.

Schimmel averaged six points and two assists and 13 minutes in Atlanta’s two games this past week.

She scored eight points, dished out three assists and grabbed three rebounds in the Dream’s loss to the Storm on Saturday night. Schimmel was 3-for-10 from the field, including 2 of 7 from 3-point range, while also blocking one shot and committing two turnovers in 22 minutes.

Three nights later she scored four points off the bench in Atlanta’s loss to the Sky. She was 2 for 2 from the field and also recorded one assist and one steal in only four minutes.

Schimmel is averaging five points, 2.5 assists and 2.3 rebounds and 15.1 minutes per game this season.

McCoughtry and Schimmel will both start for the Eastern Conference in the Boost Mobile WNBA All-Star 2015 game which will be played at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Uncasville, Conn. The game will be nationally-televised on ABC.

After the All-Star break Atlanta (7-10), which is in last place in the Eastern Conference, will play at San Antonio next Wednesday night and at Minnesota next Friday night.
