Among all the musical acts at Forecastle Festival 2010, there are sure to be demon clown spottings - that is, when they’re not performing with Cirque Berzerk, the Cirque du Soleil of the underworld.

Cirque Berzerk is a twisted circus from Los Angeles, boasting fire breathers, burlesque dancers, and acrobats.  The show is split into eight acts called lust, death, fire, siren, debonair, skin, evil, and flight.  Each act explores and interprets the emotion of their namesake through song, dance, acrobatics, and killer costumes.  The acts are alike in that they all look like sexy nightmares.

Forecastle goers have a rare opportunity to experience this show because Cirque Berzerk travels internationally and doesn’t usually perform festivals.  There aren’t any lions, or tigers, or bears, but there’s plenty of ‘oh, my!’”

The show, which is held in its own circus tent, lasts 90 minutes.  There are eight performances (two on Friday, and three on Saturday and Sunday), so check the Forecastle Festival schedule here.
