Every performance at Forecastle Festival 2010 will be an original work because no two live performances are the same.  That is doubly true for EOTO who will perform at both the festival and after party aboard the Belle of Louisville.

EOTO, which is comprised of Jason Hann, the percussionist for String Cheese Theory, and Michael Travis, the drummer for the same band, won’t go so much as a week without performing until mid-October.  The duo will travel to 19 cities in that time, performing completely original pieces.

The band boasts that the shows are all live, all the time, all improvised so every performance is absolutely unique and unpredictable.  The music is created live, then mixed and remixed during the show.  Even the tracks on all three of EOTO’s studio albums were recorded in the first and only take.

It is very difficult to describe the sound of this DJ jam band, for lack of a better term.  Their track “Tipped Off” made me think of a robot smoking a cigarette, if that’s any consolation.   EOTO has smooth, but electronic sounds that range from being used to host a relaxation session, to a dance party.  Hann and Travis list their genres as being dub step, drum and bass, hip hop, and electronic fuzz.

EOTO will perform on Saturday at 10pm on the Ocean Stage, and they will perform at the Saturday after party (there is also one on Friday with different performers) with Larva Ink aboard the Belle of Louisville from 12:30am to 3:30am.
