Welcome The Post to Louisville. The Post arrived last week to cure our city of the lack of New York style pizza. I know what you are thinking. 'Do we really need more pizza?' My answer is yes.
Owners Nash Neely and Laura Clemmons transformed the former Germantown Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post on Goss Avenue into their pizzeria. They used lots of old VFW memorabilia in the decor, giving the space a cool nostalgic and patriotic vibe.
This week’s best bite goes to The Post’s The Riveter pizza. Topped with meatballs, banana peppers, basil and provolone, this pizza is packed with mouthwatering flavors. It’s without a doubt the most authentic New York style pizza I’ve ever had in Louisville. Neely and Clemmons have absolutely nailed the dough, sauce and cheese combo. It made me want to start singing "New York, New York."
The Post has several specialty pizzas, subs, calzones and salads. And in true New York fashion, you can order by-the-slice. A giant slice of cheese or pepperoni for $3-$3.50 will be available every day or a giant slice of the day for $4. Pro-tip: Make sure when you eat it, you fold it or you are not doing it right.
For you late night foodies, The Post is open from 4:00 pm until 2:00 am.
