Andy Sandford is an alt-comic to the highest degree.  With a fresh perspective and a slightly left of center view on the world, Sandford is a hard traveling road dog who bounces from alternative venue to alternative venue, playing bars, clubs, and small theaters all over the country.  Sandford launched his comedy career in Atlanta, Ga – garnering fast attention and much respect from the city’s finest comedians.  After making his name in Atlanta, Sandford packed up and headed north, where he is now based out of New York.  And if he isn’t on the road he is kicking around the streets of the big apple looking for a stage to work on.

He released an album entitled “Me the Whole Time” last year – an album which made countless year end lists including Splitsider’s “9 Best Standup Specials & Albums of 2014;” who described the album as:  “It’s a testament to Sandford’s deep well of material that midway through the album, he’s telling stories that most comics would save for their closers”

He has been seen doing standup can be seen on CONAN, and also plays an animated version of himself on Adult Swim’s Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Brooklyn Magazine named Andy one of “Brooklyn’s Funniest People,” and Rooftopcomedy.com bestowed him the Silver Nail Award, given to the “top 8 up-and-coming comedians in the country.”  He was also described as “One of the funniest comedians of his generation,” by Purge Magazine.

Local collective LAFF Fest is bringing Sandford in for a special one night only, free show at The Silver Dollar.  Sandberg and his friend Grant Gordon will be special guests at The Monday Night Comedy Show, August 24th, which as always the show begins upstairs at 10:00 PM and has free admission (and free food).

    About Brent Owen

Born and raised in Louisville, I have lived here most of my life (except during a short furlough, when I, lovelorn and naive, followed a girl to Baton Rouge). My roots are here, my family, my friends, and my life are all here. I work primarily as a free-lance writer for a few local and regional publications. I have also written two books (one a memoir, the other a novel) that barring some divine intervention, will probably never see the light of day. I find myself deeply ingrained in the local bar scene, or perhaps better said, I often indulge in the local drinking culture. I love music, movies, comedy, and really just about any other live performance art.
