    SARA HAVENS BOOK READING AND SIGNING
    Join Carmichael's for what is sure to be a fun reading and book signing!Sara Havens hardly needs introduction as The Bar Belle of Louisville. Her book, The Bar Belle was released in late 2011 an includes her columns from 2006-2010. While Sara Havens is embarking on bigger and better endeavors and maintains her own independent blog (barbelleblog.com), this collection shows us more of her humble beginnings as the lady of Louisville's nightlife.

    FRAUG
    This Nashville, Tennessee-based group blends an eclectic collection of styles, and has built a musical foundation from their influences that came from yesterday’s past. They’re a rock band, but with elements of soul, funk, jazz and even some southern-rock, combining genres to make for an electrifying experience!

    BANYAN TREE CHAI TEA PARTY
    Louisville company Banyan Tree Beverage is excited to launch their three flavors of chai tea latte, and showcase "a new way to latte!" Attend this chai celebration featuring free chai tea lattes, complimentary traditional treats from local Indian restaurants, live music. A Comfy Cow chai ice cream and Copper And Kings ice cream float will be available for purchase, and VINT Coffee will be featuring a $5 Copper And Kings Brandy Chai Blast. Portion of proceeds will benefit National MS Society Kentucky Southeast Indiana Chapter.

    PALETTE TO PALATE
    Palette to Palate is a collaboration of culinary and visual art that will focus on the visual relationship of food to art and the culinary art experience through taste. Participating chefs will select a work of art from the Speed’s collection to create a composed dish based on personal inspiration from the piece. A cash prize will be awarded to the winner based "people's choice".

    STRAY CAT GIN LAUNCH PARTY
    Louisville-based Copper & Kings American Brandy Co. is holding a launch party to celebrate a very limited release, small batch, artisanal gin, Stray Cat Gin. Double distilled in a Vendome copper pot still, the apple brandy-based spirit was made with classic gin botanicals and aged in a medium-char Serbian juniper barrel for 12 months. It is non-chill filtered and unadulterated by any post distillation infusion of flavor or color. Distillers Brandon O'Daniel and Alan Bishop will discuss Copper & Kings’ unique, small batch gin distillation and barrel aging techniques. Only 750 bottles (375mL each) will be produced and sold at the distillery store, with a tiny selection available for superlative bars and liquor stores. The original fine art label is illustrated by renowned Louisville artist Douglas Miller, who will be present at the launch to sign bottles. You can read more about this event on Louisville.com here!

    HIGHLANDS FEST 2015
    Come and check out the hottest block party of the year! All your favorite local art and craft vendors will be there, and there will be live performances by Kirby's Dreamland and Cover Me Badd.  Bring the kids for an assortment of activities in the fun zone where there’s something for everyone: great food, live music and a covered beer garden! Proceeds from the Highlands Festival will benefit Irish Care, O’Shea’s Irish Pub’s non-profit that helps individuals, families or local charitable organizations in need of financial assistance.

    SPLAT OUT CANCER
    Just about everyone has been touched by cancer in some way. With Kentucky having the highest cancer death rate in the nation, the need to find cures is urgent. The University of Louisville’s James Graham Brown Cancer Center has teamed with Benjamin Moore paints and Scoppechio ad agency to create Splat Out Cancer, an event where we can all come together to brighten our community and raise money to help find new cures to fight cancer. Join us for this special event that will not only create a lasting work of art, 48 feet tall and 88 feet wide, but will also make a bold statement about this community’s dedication to ending cancer.

    CARDS FEST 2015
    The University of Louisville is the heart of Louisville, KY. CARDS Fest 2015 will be hosted on campus to feature homegrown music, art, and food.     THE 2015 LOUISVILLE ZOMBIE ATTACK
    Come take part in the largest and oldest annual zombie walk in the world! It's time to dress up in your best zombie (or survivor!) gear and wander the Highlands with hordes of your undead (or surviving) brethren. It's fun for the whole family - just make sure you're parking where you're welcome and staggering with consideration for the business and home owners in the Highlands! Pre-parties start at 5 p.m. at Highland Taproom, Nowhere Bar, The Back Door, and Big Bar. Walk is at 8:29pm starting at either MidCity Mall's Parking Lot or the corners of Eastern Parkway & Bardstown Road, your choice. Walk ends at an outdoor event including music by Vice Tricks, Nülydedz, Boner City, I Have A Knife, Stagecoach Inferno, Thriller Dance by Terpsichore Dance Crew, and DJ CRASH DDZ . There will be free Ale-8-One Bottling Company samples and Photo Booth, rad stuff from The Devils Attic and 7th Street Haunt, and costume contests for Grossest, Hottest, King & Queen, and the coveted Golden Machete (best overall). Curious about the zombie walk?     Family Force 5, Hawk Nelson, Matt Maher, For King and Country
    The Turf Concert Series at Cardinal Stadium features award-winning musicians and groups in a fun backyard setting each night of the Fair. Concertgoers are seated on the turf field in chairs and bleachers, which are on a first come, first serve basis. The stage is along the first base line facing the open turf, seats and concessions from local food trucks. Fans will also get an up-close view of the artists as they perform.
