    Copper & Kings Non-Official Soft Opening at their New Distillery
    Owners Joe and Leslie Heron of Copper & Kings American Brandy Co. are ready to introduce brandy to Louisville. The veteran beverage entrepreneurs have been producing pure American brandy for several months at the Butchertown distillery while completing construction on the cutting-edge facility, which includes a copper-pot still distillery, basement maturation cellar, art gallery event space, modern office suite, and third floor tasting room with sky deck. An informal preview event will be held this Friday, July 11 from 5 to 11 p.m. as an unofficial sneak peek for the Louisville community. Live local music from JK Mabry & the Maybes, food trucks, and a craft cocktail bar will set up in the courtyard throughout the night. In addition to the free outdoor event, guided distillery tours that include a rooftop tasting are available for $5 per person.

    Movie Night at the Zoo: Frozen
    Join us on the second Friday of the month, June through September, to enjoy a movie under the stars at the wildest theater in town. This week, drop in to watch the box office hit Frozen. The Zoo Crew will provide free entertainment before the show, and snacks and other refreshments will be available for purchase. Don’t forget to pack your blanket or lawn chairs. Movie nights are free to Zoo members and only $5 after 5 p.m. for non-members.

Sometimes playful, often poignant, and always thoroughly entertaining, the 6’ 4” singer/songwriter with the fiery red hair and easy smile has quickly earned a reputation as an artist that knows how to capture the attention of an audience and hold them in the palm of his hands.  After 7 p.m, patrons must be 21+ unless accompanied by a legal guardian.     Butchertown Summer Picnic at the St. Joseph Catholic Church
    The St. Joseph Catholic Church's 2014 Summer Picnic is this Saturday, July 12th, from 3 p.m. to midnight. Mass is at 4 p.m., with plenty of fun to follow. Stick around for an old-fashioned chicken dinner, a dining package raffle, and Showdown poker. There will also be an outside food tent and beer booth. No one can throw a picnic like a church, so be sure to come by.

    Paddle for Hunger at Waterfront Park
    Presented by the Louisville Mayor’s Office and Yum! Brands , Paddle for Hunger is a fun-filled day of teambuilding and competition as teams of ten race voyager canoes on the Ohio River. There are two team packages to choose from (Gold Team for $5,000 or Silver Team for $2,500), or you can just drop by to volunteer your time. Proceeds benefit the Dare to Care Food Bank and the World Food Program. Visit the website below for more details on the team packages. Whether or not you compete, it's sure to be a great time, so come by this Saturday.

    Life's a Beach Day Party at Baxter's 942 Bar & Grill
    Baxter's 942 Bar & Grill will never be the same after we bring in 30 tons of sand, a pig roast, rooftop DJs, live band performance, palm trees, drink specials, contests…the list goes on! The back parking lot of Baxter's 942 will be converted into a beach for this epic party, so bring your suntan lotion and shades. This is one event you don't want to miss! Festivities will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday July 12, with live DJ performances by Chicago's own Milk N Cookies and Win and Woo. Local musicians will include Beatsmackers and Prism. At 6 p.m., the live bands begin with a special performance by country music star Josh London. Attire: Tanks, swimsuits, sandals – whatever you want for a day on the beach! Must be 21+ to attend.

    Shakespeare in the Park Presents Hamlet
    Shakespeare in the Park presents Hamlet as part of their 2014 summer season. The show, directed by Matt Wallace, only runs three nights, July 11 through July 13, with a preview night June 10. The pre-show entertainment begins at 7:30 p.m., and the play begins promptly at 8 p.m. Stop by Central Park in Old Louisville for a taste of Shakespeare to satisfy your hunger for the arts.

    Louisville Bridal Showcase Presents the Tour of Gowns

Brides Against Breast Cancer contributes to programs offering support to cancer patients and their families. Our outreach and educational efforts during our "Nationwide Tour of Gowns" bridal shows help ensure that people impacted by cancer have the resources and information they need.
