    Tuesdays With Morrie
    Print this page

Humor and wit while battling a disease forms the basis of Tuesdays With Morrie, which opens in New Albany on Friday.

Tuesdays With Morrie will go on March 9, 10, 16, and 17 at 8 p.m. each night.  Matinee shows, meanwhile, are to happen on March 11 and 18 at 2 p.m. each day.  All performances will take place at St. Marks United Church of Christ Chapel, located at 222 East Spring Street in New Albany, IN.

Tickets are general admission only and are $10 per person.  Reservations, which are required, can be made by calling 502-509-1114.  All proceeds will go towards St. Mark's Capital Campaign Fund, which is used towards the soup kitchen and clothes closet missions.

Tuesdays With Morrie is based on Mitch Albom's book, which showcases his friendship, formed in college with Professor Morrie Schwartz, rekindled on Nightline 16 years later.  Schwartz is battling ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease, but the duo offer much humor, an optimistic outlook, and a resilient attitude in order to continue the battle.

J.R. Stuart stars as Morrie, and Jeremy Sapp plays Mitch.  Stuart also directed the production.

More information on St. Marks can be found at its website.
