Better than vegetables, a tale on life and love comes straight out of The Secret Garden, which will open tonight in New Albany.

The Secret Garden is set to take place on June 17, 18, 23, 24, and 25 at 7:30 p.m. each night. A matinee show will go on at 3 p.m. on June 19. All performances will happen at Central Christian Church, located at 1315 East Spring Street in New Albany, IN. The Secret Garden is free to get into, although donations toward C3 PAM are appreciated.

The Secret Garden is based on the Frances Hodgson Burnett novel. The central character, Mary, was orphaned and living with her uncle Archibald. She discovered a gardent that used to belong to Lily, Archibald's late wife. Mary begins to take care of the garden herself and, in the process, brings about a sense and lessons on life and love.

The Secret Garden went to Broadway at the St. James Theatre in 1991 and ran for more than 700 shows. Marsha Norman and Lucy Simon created the production.
