Since the Louisville area forecast looks so horrid for the next several days, here are some ideas for play for those looking for ways to play with toddlers and preschoolers.

These are some of my favorite things to do when it’s raindrop falling on our heads time in Louisville. These are also great for the cooler temps heading our way. These are really in no particular order (because you should know by now how much I favor the library!)

    1.       Kentucky Science Center – explore, play, experience science on so many levels! Admission is $11 for children, $13 for adults, $5 after 5pm on Friday and Saturdays is a great deal! Located at 727 W. Main Street.

    2.       KMAC MakerSpace at Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft – free with regular museum admission, located on the 1st floor at 715 W. Main Street. Click here for more calendar information.

    3.       Mother’s Day Out options at KaZoing Party & Play – on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays parents can drop their children off for a MDO for a full day of half day. The cost is $22 for half day, $40 for full day. Click here for more information. Located at 3600 Chamberlain Lane Suite 218.

    4.       Open Gym at Kentucky Gymnastics Academy-a great deal for open play for young ones ages 1-5: $5 per child! Open gym is held Monday-Friday at varying times. Located at 1920 Stanley Gault Parkway #103.

    5.       Story-infused programs, art, and play times at area libraries or Mama’s Hip abound. See the links for branch library information and locations. Be sure to check out toddler, parent/child, playgroups, and other programs at Mama’s Hip. Located at 1559 Bardstown Road.
