For the next month or so, the Toddler Tuesdays weekly edition will feature my hand-picked top five activities that I see going on around Louisville and Kentuckiana this fall. Hopefully this will give you some fresh ideas of what to do with those toddlers and preschoolers running around your house. With a new season approaching, it’s always fun to find a new activity or series of events to attend together.
The fall semester with Heartland Music Together is starting on Monday, September 8. There are still some spots left to register your child in an unforgettable and addictive music class, that is both engaging and enlivening. You will find yourselves thoroughly enjoying your music time together each week; it’s one of my toddler and my favorite thing to do together. See the website for more information about enrolling, and check out one of their free remaining demo classes. Right now, there is a special going on for a reduced rate of $15.00 off tuition when you refer a friend-both of you get the discount.
2. Kentucky Gymnastics Academy
My toddler and I have been to the open gym times at KGA and have really loved it. It’s only $5 for a drop-in rate and you can really burn some energy! Open gym is available for children ages 1-5. It’s a great way to check out the facility and their gymnastics offerings as well. Check out their current school year schedule here.
3. Soccer Leagues around Louisville
Everywhere I’ve been the past week or so, I have seen little boys and girls decked out in their soccer gear on the weekends! Saturday mornings=soccer practice and games around Louisville. Check out some of these offerings to see if you can still get on a youth soccer league team.
4. Carmichael’s Kids Storytimes
This week, the new children’s bookstore in the Highlands, Carmichael’s Kids, began offering children’s storytimes on Mondays and Thursdays at 11am. Check their website calendar for upcoming dates; I believe it is a weekly event. It is recommended for children ages 2-5.
At Mama’s Hip, get the ultimate treatment for your toddler and yourself in their Toddler Class series. They offer art, music, yoga, and sign language for babies, all of which are geared for the very young in mind. Classes are usually $10 drop-in rate, and you can purchase a Toddler Fun Class Card. There are also Mama’s Hip playgroup options as well.
