    Barr Memorial Library in Fort Knox

    Upcoming events at the Barr Memorial Library include story hour on Tuesday, October 14 at 10am and an Authors at Your Library event on Wednesday, October 15 at 6pm. They will be hosting author David Bell as he discusses his newest book The Forgotten Girl. There will also be a book signing.

    Bullitt County Public Library

    At the Bullitt County libraries this weekend, families can enjoy a movie night at the Lebanon Junction branch tonight, (Thursday October 9) at 6pm. Call 502-543-7675 to register. Also, the BCPL would like to invite everyone to their Author Faire 2014 which is coming on November 8 at the Ridgway Memorial Library. Mark your calendars for the third annual showcase of local authors; it is from 10am-4pm.

    Jeffersonville Township Public Library

    At Jeffersonville and Clark County libraries this weekend, teens and youngsters can enjoy the following on Saturday, October 11: Tween Book Club at 11am, Family Movie at 12pm, and Anime-niacs at 3pm. The library will be closed on Monday, October 13 in observance of Columbus Day.

    Louisville Free Public Library

    October is Art & Music month at LFPL, so be sure to check out these 40+ amazing programs happening all over the city. This weekend, venture out to the #NewSouthwest Library located at 9725 Dixie Highway. The library just had its grand opening last weekend and everyone seemed extremely ecstatic to see their new community library. I encourage you to go see it for yourself. They have several programs happening all weekend. Click here for a slideshow of the library’s opening ceremony. The Southwest Regional Library is open this weekend Friday and Saturday from 9am-5pm and Sunday from 1pm-5pm.

    New Albany-Floyd County Public Library

    Mark your calendar for an upcoming program called 200 Years of Steamboat History on Thursday, October 16 at 7pm. It will be a presentation about the history of steamboats and coincides nicely with the Centennial Festival of Riverboats happening October 14-19 along the river.

    Oldham County Public Library

    Teen Read Week runs October 12-18 at the OCPL. Teens are encouraged to post a picture of themselves reading their favorite book and share it on Twitter, @ocplteenlib. They’ll have a chance to be entered for some prize drawings. See their calendar listing for many family-oriented programs all week long.
