    Thoroughly Modern Millie
    Print this page

From small town to big city goes Thoroughly Modern Millie, which Floyd Central High School theatre students will perform beginning Friday.

Thoroughly Modern Millie will take place Mar. 8, 9, 15, and 16 at 7:30 p.m. each night.  Matinees are to happen on Mar. 10 and 17 at 2 p.m. each day.  All performances will happen at Floyd Central High School, located at 6575 Old Vincennes Road in Floyds Knobs, IN.

Tickets for each show are $12 for adults, $10 for senior citizens, and $6 for students.  A VIP upgrade, featuring priority seating and VIP lounge, is $6 extra.  All tickets can be purchased at the box office or by calling the box office at 812-542-2284.

Thoroughly Modern Millie is an energetic musical that sees young Millie Dillmount leave her small Kansas town in 1922 and arrive in New York City.  Millie begins her search for a job, er, well, a rich-husband-via-a-job.  Meanwhile, a plot to kidnap orphans, as well as a person Millie befriended, develops.

Dick Scanlan created the lyrics for Thoroughly Modern Millie.  Scanlan worked with Richard Morris on the book, and Jeanine Tesori created the music.  Tyler Bliss directed the production for Floyd Central High School.

More information on Floyd Central High School theatre arts can be found at its website.
