Lovers journey through five years of their lives in opposite directions in the production The Last Five Years, which runs this weekend only at Floyd Central High School.
The Last Five Years performances are to happen on April 5, 6, and 7 at 7 p.m. each night. All performances will go on at Floyd Central High School, located at 6575 Old Vincennes Road in Floyd Knobs, IN.
Tickets for the show are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, and $8 for students. Reservations are strongly recommended due to limited space and can be made by calling the Floyd Central theatre department at 812-542-2284. Due to mature subject matter, the show is suitable for those 12 and above only.
The Last Five Years features two lovers, played by Zach Hebert and Erica Mohler, going through five years of their relationship, including the dating, the falling in love, marriage, and eventual breakdown. The twist is that the two characters' stories will go in opposite directions, with one performing the story from beginning to end and the other going from end to beginning. The characters are also by themselves on stage the entire show except for their marriage scene.
Jason Robert Brown created the music and lyrics for The Last Five Years.
Hebert and Mohler previously appeared in The Drowsy Chaperone, which was selected for the International Thespian Festival in Nebraska. Also, last August, Hebert took part in E.A. Poe...Into the Mind of Madness, a Floyd Central original show, at the International Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Following The Last Five Years, Floyd Central will present Celtic Dreams. The Chris Bundy-directed production will happen on April 20, 21, and 22.
