Jane Austen's tale of morality and manners takes the Floyd Central High School stage in Pride and Prejudice, which opens Friday.

Pride and Prejudice will take place on Apr. 25, 26, and 27 at 7:30 p.m. each night. Matinee shows are to go on Apr. 26 and 27 at 2 p.m. All performances are to happen at the Studio One theater on the Floyd Central High School campus, located at 6575 Old Vincennes Road in Floyds Knobs, IN.

Tickets for each show are $6-$12 and can be purchased at the Floyd Central High School theater website. Due to limited seating, advance reservations are strongly recommended.

Pride and Prejudice is a Jane Austen novel brought to the stage with Jon Jory's adaptation. It focuses on the independent Elizabeth Bennett, whose mother and sisters place an increasing burden on her to find a husband. Elizabeth, at first, finds herself with a mixture of suitors that simply do not suit her.

Even as she comes upon a man who could be her future, the mounting pressure, alongside Elizabeth's independence, could derail the family.

More information on the show can be found at the Floyd Central High School theater arts website.
