A few months ago, the J.B. Speed Art Museum closed its doors for a major renovation. The physical museum space may be unavailable at the time, but the quality-filled, educational programs you and your family are accustomed to from the Speed Museum are carrying on.
This summer, the outreach endeavor, “Speed About Town,” will be hosting various summer art camps at different locations throughout the community. The summer camps will focus on various artistic approaches, including drawing, printmaking, design, curating, photography, collage, and architecture. Two camps will be co-led by educators from the Frazier Museum and are filled with themes from King Arthur to the Middle Ages. They are all sure to be loaded with creativity, exploration, and some play! Your kids will learn new skills and hopefully have fun while making new friends as well. The camps are suitable for children in grades 1st-8th. Most camps start the week of June 10 and cost $150-$175 for a week.
