Today Trinity high school has produced its share of NFL stars indeed the team is more often than not ranked in the top ten high school football teams in the country.
But, there’s always got to be a first and for the Shamrocks that was Steve Raible. A wide receiver who had a knack for leadership.
After leaving Trinity, the young man headed south to play with Georgia Tech, early on Raible’s talent and positive attitude proved itself infectious within the Yellow Jackets organization.
So much so that in 1976 the new expansion team, Seattle Seahawks picked up the college star. Raible proved to be a draw for the young team until he left the Seahawks in 1981. And, while he might have left the Seahawks he stayed in Seattle, finding a job as an area broadcaster, after being offered a chance in June of 1982.
Something to be noted is that the decision was completely Raible’s who was preparing for that year’s training camp prior to receiving the call, weighing his options he decided to switch his career.
Appropriately enough Raible is currently a commentator for the Seahawks. He also offers coverage in the Seattle market for various other events.
Today he’s known as one of the preeminent anchors in the northwest and like so many of us works as a part-time golfer. Recently, he's also found a place in the Georgia Tech Hall of Fame.
His consistent light-hearted jokes on the field and off has made Raible a beloved citizen of Seattle and Louisville.
