There’s only one way to start a recap of last weekend’s high school football games, and that’s with a good old fashioned rivalry: The Ballard Bruins vs. The Eastern Eagles.
Ballard and Eastern have become long time foes due to their proximity and their similar style of play, this year’s chapter played at Ballard was a “Pink-Out” for Breast Cancer for Ballard fans in attendance, and their color was rewarded as the Bruins pulled out a lob sided victory against Eastern with a final score of 13-53.
This makes Ballard currently 3-4 in the season as they look to their next opponent, Fern Creek at Fern Creek on Friday. Meanwhile, Eastern sits on a 2-4 record as they face Oldham County on Friday.
Trinity squeaked by in a victory against Manual 38-30, which was surprisingly close considering the Shamrocks powerhouse national ranking. The Rams of Manual will meet up with St. X on Friday, while Trinity continues their stellar season at Male this week.
Meanwhile, DeSales continued their undefeated streak as they went 7-0 against Fort Knox, last Friday. The Colts of DeSales have been quietly raking up win after win, and proving there’s another Archdiocese school who should be nationally ranked in the Derby City. They will meet Christian Academy on Friday, to attempt to continue their undefeated season.
