From now and through July 11, the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival will continue its summer season with performances of Richard III.
Performances of Richard III will take place in the C. Douglas Ramey Amphitheatre, located in Louisville's Central Park near 4th and Magnolia Streets. Performances will take place beginning tonight, June 30, as well as July 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 at 8 p.m. each night. Each performance is free admission.
In Richard III, all is seemingly peaceful in England following a civil war between the York family and Lancaster, which was won by the Yorks. However, as King Edward IV rules the land, his younger, power-starved, and deformed brother, Richard, looks to obtain Edward's throne at any cost, including manipulation and murder.
Matt Wallace directed the production for the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival.
Following Richard III, the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival will feature Much Ado About Nothing and more performances of Twelfth Night. More information on Kentucky Shakespeare Festival events can be found at the company's website.
