People of three different class systems try to make their lives into something in New York in the musical Ragtime, which Centerstage will present beginning Thursday.

Ragtime performances are to happen Oct. 25, 27, Nov. 1, 3, 5, 8, and 10 at 7:30 p.m. each night.  Matinee shows, meanwhile, will go on Oct. 28, Nov. 4, and 11 at 2 p.m. each day.  All performances will take place at the Jewish Community Center, located at 3600 Dutchmans Lane near the Highlands in Louisville.

Tickets for each show are $18 in advance or $20 at the door.  Tickets can be purchased at the Centerstage website.  More information on the show can also be found at the Centerstage website.

Ragtime is a musical that focuses on turn-of-the-century New York and three different groups of people trying to live in those times: African-Americans, upper-class, and Eastern European immigrants.  Various famous people, including Harry Houdini, Booker T. Washington, and others, are also portrayed in the production.

Following Ragtime, Centerstage will present Company, which will take place beginning in January.
