Marital bliss, or lack thereof, is explored in the Stephen Sondheim musical Company, which Centerstage will present beginning tomorrow.
Company performances will take place on Jan. 10, 12, 14, 17, and 19 at 7:30 p.m each night. Shows on Jan. 13 and 20 will go on at 2 and 7 p.m. each day. All performances are to happen at the Jewish Community Center of Louisville, located at 3600 Dutchmans Lane in the Highlands.

In the musical comedy Company, Robert, the only bachelor among his many married friends, considers the good, the bad, and the funny of married life. Each couple has a story to tell on marriage, whether its The Little Things You Do Together, The Ladies Who Lunch, or Getting Married Today. Those songs, along with Side by Side by Side, Being Alive, and others, will also be featured in the Sondheim musical.
John Leffert directed the production for Centerstage, which includes Mike Fryman as Robert. Other cast members include: Jason Buttons, Mera Kathryn Corlett, Rusty Henle, Jill Higginbotham, Amanda Lahti, Lauren Maxwell, Lauren McCombs, Katie Nuss, Jordan Price, Kate E. Reedy, Stephen Smith, Patrick Vaughn, and Margo Wooldridge.
Before Centerstage took the reigns of Company, the show premiered on Broadway in 1970, running for more than 700 performances at the Alvin Theatre. Company is considered a "concept musical", a show in which the show's overall message bears more importance than any narrative.
Following Company, Centerstage will present Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. That production will take place in February and March.
