    Centerstage will kick off the 2013-14 season with Legally Blonde: The Musical, which opens Wednesday.

    Legally Blonde: The Musical will happen on July 11, 13, 15, 18, and 20 at 7:30 p.m. each night. Shows on July 14 and 21 will take place, meanwhile at 2 and 7 p.m. both days.  All performances are to happen at the Jewish Community Center of Louisville, located at 3600 Dutchmans Lane near Bowman Field.   

    Tickets for each show are $18 per person in advance or $20 at the door.  All tickets can be purchased at the front desk at Jewish Community Center of Louisville, by calling JCC at 502-459-0660, or by going to the Centerstage website.

    An opening night launch party, meanwhile, is to happen starting at 6 p.m. on July 10.  Alongside the Legally Blonde performance, there will be a best dressed contest (bring your best pink outfit), a Bend and Snap Contest ,and an open bar sponsored through Heaven Hill.  

    Tickets for this event are $30 per person.  These tickets can be purchased by calling 502-238-2709 or also through the Centerstage website.

    Legally Blonde: The Musical, based on the Reese Witherspoon movie, features a girl who, defying odds, gets accepted into Harvard Law School.  Elle, at one time a fashion merchandising student and president of her UCLA sorority, With her pink ensembles and dog in tow, she sets about proving an ex-boyfriend wrong while also earning surprising respect from her Harvard peers.

    Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin created the music for Legally Blonde while Heather Hach wrote the book.  For Centerstage, Kate E. Reedy performs as Elle.  

    Following Legally Blonde, Centerstage will present A New Brain.  That production will open in August.  More information on the shows can be found at the Centerstage website.
