Comedy, drama, possible murder plots and even a show-within-a-show are set to take place during Little Colonel Playhouse's 2015-16 theater season.
During Little Colonel's 2015-16 season, the theater company will present five shows: "Don't Dress for Dinner", "Outside Mullingar", "Twist", "All My Passions" and "First Baptist of Ivy Gap." All performances are to happen at Little Colonel Playhouse, located at 302 Mt. Mercy Drive in Pewee Valley, KY.
Single tickets for the upcoming season are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors 60 and over and $12 for students. Meanwhile, season tickets for the upcoming season are $60 for adults, $50 for seniors 60 and over and $50 for students. A season ticket order form is available at the Little Colonel Playhouse website. Single tickets will become available as each show gets closer to opening.
Little Colonel Playhouse will open the season with "Don't Dress for Dinner." A romantic weekend with a husband's mistress goes completely wrong thanks to other affairs, mistaken identities and backstabbing. The comedy runs Sept. 18-27. Auditions for the show are coming up on Aug. 2 and 3.
In November, Little Colonel will present "Outside Mullingar," featuring two Irish misfits who have to deal with their families' fights over land and one misfit's love for the other. "Outside Mullingar" will go on Nov. 6-15.
The theater will take a literal twist into the new year with "Twist." A writer, writing a tell-all book about his wife, decides to have her murdered as a twisted way to increase book sales. The plot unfolds Jan. 15-24.
Little Colonel will enter the spring with the romantic comedy "All My Passions." A show-within-a-show features a social-crusader-turned-program-consultant (thanks to the network) battling humorously with cast and crew to clean up a soap opera that has become more sleazy to increase ratings. The show will go on March 11-20.
Closing out Little Colonel's mainstage season is "First Baptist of Ivy Gap." Six ladies help plan the church's 75th anniversary, which is taking place in the middle of World War II. The ladies, of varied backgrounds and personalities, rely on each other but also battle each other during these difficult times. The play takes place May 13-22.
