Secrets, lies and plenty of confusion are in store for the characters in the comedy “Don’t Dress for Dinner,” which Little Colonel Playhouse will continue this week.
“Don’t Dress for Dinner” will go on Sept. 24-26 at 7:30 p.m. each night. A matinee, meanwhile, will take place Sept. 27 at 2 p.m. All performances are to happen at Little Colonel Playhouse, located at 302 Mt. Mercy Drive in Pewee Valley, KY.
Tickets for each show are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and $12 for students. Tickets can be purchased at the door or by calling Little Colonel Playhouse at (502) 588-1557. In a change from previous seasons, Little Colonel Playhouse will accept credit cards alongside cash and check.
At a lovely French cottage in the countryside, Bernard is ready to spend some time with his mistress. He has everything planned out, or at least he thinks he does. His wife, Jacqueline, is away, he has a cook ready to prepare a romantic dinner for Bernard and the mistress and his best friend, Robert, is there to provide a seemingly perfect alibi.
Plans get broken very quickly, however. Robert, who has no idea why he’s at the cottage, is having an affair with Jacqueline and does not want her to go away. The cook, meanwhile, winds up playing the role of mistress. Each person finds their own alibis getting mixed up with everyone else’s. Welcome to the hilarious confusion of the cottage.
