Little Colonel Playhouse presents Our Town

Considered by some to be the greatest American play ever to be created, Little Colonel Playhouse will perform Our Town starting this weekend.

Our Town will take place April 17, 18 and 23-25 at 8 p.m. each night. Matinees will happen on April 19 and 26 at 2:30 p.m. each day. All performances are to go on at Little Colonel Playhouse, located at 302 Mt. Mercy Drive in Pewee Valley, KY.

Tickets for each show are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors 60 and over, and $12 for students. Tickets can be purchased at the door or by calling Little Colonel Playhouse at 502-588-1557. Keep in mind that the theater does not accept credit cards.

Our Town focuses on remembering the value of life, even when it seems at its most routine.  The play showcases the lives and times in a typical small town. The residents here go about their daily business while others fall in love and get married. Residents also deal with the passing of loved ones.

Thornton Wilder created the play, which earned him a Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Sharon Sommermeyer directed the play for Little Colonel Playhouse.

More information on the play can be found at the Little Colonel Playhouse website.
