Classic shows will entertain audiences of all ages during the Shelby County Community Theatre 2015-16 mainstage season.

During tts 2015-16 theater season, Shelby County Community Theatre (SCCT) will present five mainstage shows: “Footloose,” the youth production “Disney’s Alice in Wonderland Jr.,” “It’s a Wonderful Life,” “Don’t Drink the Water” and "Mama Won’t Fly". All performances are to happen at the theater, located at 801 Main Street in Shelbyville, KY.

Season tickets are available as either mainstage-only tickets or Flexpass, which combines mainstage and Upstairs at 801 shows. Mainstage-only season tickets are $54 for adults, $43 for senior citizens and $36 for students. Flexpass options are $81 for adults, $65 for seniors and $54 for students. More information on purchasing season tickets can be found at the SCCT website.

SCCT will kick off those Sunday shoes - and its season - with “Footloose.” This rocking, dancing musical features a Midwestern town where rocking and dancing are illegal and the new-from-out-of-towner who wants to change that. “Footloose” gets going Aug. 7-16.

Following in the fall will be the youth production “Disney’s Alice in Wonderland Jr.” Follow Alice as she enters a strange world full of mad hatters, a cheshire cat and even a queen. The youth take over the stage Oct. 2-11.

The holiday season will bring forth the classic “It’s a Wonderful Life.” The story of a man, kind and helpful but down-on-his-luck, and the guardian angel who helps the man realize his purpose in life. This winter tradition on TV goes live on stage Dec. 4-13.

Opening the new year for SCCT will be the Woody Allen-penned “Don’t Drink the Water.” A farce that is Allen’s style, this one focuses on an American Embassy, a wacky family trying to escape the clutches of Communists and the incompetent replacement leader of the Embassy who makes matters worse. The hilarity runs Feb. 19-28, 2016.

Last, but not least, SCCT will finish the season with “Mama Won’t Fly.” A daughter has four days to get her mother from Alabama to California for her brother’s wedding. Unfortunately, mama has no interest in flying, meaning they will be driving the whole way (hopefully). See how hilarious their trip will be May 13-22, 2016.

More information on the shows as well as the Upstairs at 801 series can be found at the SCCT website.
