The road to here has been twisted, prickly mess for Chris Titus.  Happiness has always seemed to be a brass ring of ash for him, making him one of the most enigmatic stand-up comedians on the planet.  Titus grew up with a father, who for all intents and purposes would be considered abusive…he was teetering on the line, at the very least.  His mother struggled with mental illness cycling in and out of psychiatric wards, until she murdered her second husband and finally committed suicide in 1994.  And if that isn’t enough, ten years later his sister committed suicide, as well.

He also walked away from a hugely successful sitcom called Titus that ran in 90’s; and went through a bitter contentious divorce from his first wife, costing millions of dollars while having to fend off horrific lies and allegations.

I know what you’re thinking, all combined it sounds like a recipe for hilarity, but somehow it is.  Seeing Titus is an experience, a rollercoaster of emotions that you’ve never experienced in a comedy show before.

Chris Titus, tonight June 22nd, 7:30 @Bomhard Theater tickets are $25.

    About Brent Owen

Born and raised in Louisville, I have lived here most of my life (except during a short furlough, when I, lovelorn and naive, followed a girl to Baton Rouge). My roots are here, my family, my friends, and my life are all here. I work primarily as a free-lance writer for a few local and regional publications. I have also written two books (one a memoir, the other a novel) that barring some divine intervention, will probably never see the light of day. I find myself deeply ingrained in the local bar scene, or perhaps better said, I often indulge in the local drinking culture. I love music, movies, comedy, and really just about any other live performance art.
