The Pass has been one of Louisville’s favorite rock bands for the better part of a decade. The group swirls with influences from 70’s glam, 80’s new wave and 90’s alternative – all tossed together into one giant gumbo neo-new wave of weird. Their live shows are legendary, their songs are infectious. They're one of the most exciting bands in town.

On the other hand, Scott Carney is one of our city’s most creative music minds – having fronted the pseudo-psychedelic power trio Wax Fang for years. Carney’s sonic template is complex and varied, walking fine lines between ambient psychedelic strange all the way to the verge of cacophonous noise. Then again he might show up with nothing more than an acoustic guitar. He’s a grab bag of unpredictability that makes him endlessly entertaining, as well.

The Pass and Scott Carney are playing Zanzabar April 30th, the show begins at 9:00 PM and tickets are $10.

    About Brent Owen

Born and raised in Louisville, I have lived here most of my life (except during a short furlough, when I, lovelorn and naive, followed a girl to Baton Rouge). My roots are here, my family, my friends, and my life are all here. I work primarily as a free-lance writer for a few local and regional publications. I have also written two books (one a memoir, the other a novel) that barring some divine intervention, will probably never see the light of day. I find myself deeply ingrained in the local bar scene, or perhaps better said, I often indulge in the local drinking culture. I love music, movies, comedy, and really just about any other live performance art.
