    Live Music Lou’s Can’t Miss: May 31-June 6
    Print this page

This week is a little slow in terms of volume, but with a trip to Cincinnati for the epic Bunbury lineup, taking it easy might be a good idea. For location, time and cost, click on the link for each event. Check back at livemusiclou.com after the events for our full reviews.

    Tuesday (6/2) -

    Taylor Swift with Vance Joy

One of the biggest names in music will be making an appearance at The Yum! Center. Vance Joy, who was here a little more than a month ago for Derby festivities, will be warming things up for Ms. Swift. Tickets are still available, but are limited, so decide quickly if you're planning on attending.

    Thursday (6/4) -

    ReSurfaced Opening Night

Louisville’s Slow Down Johnny and Lexington-based The Wooks will open up the ReSurfaced season downtown. The pop-up space was very well received last summer and is back again with a plenty of fun events lined up for Friday and Saturday evenings, as well. Friday you can check out The Free Soul Effect and DJ Sam Sneed, and Saturday catch a jam sesh with Teddy Abrams and 1200.

    Friday (6/5) -

Kaleidico, Twenty First Century Fox, Montego

Multifaceted Louisville band Kaleidico has a new album and this Zanzabar show is playing host in order to celebrate it. Zoetic fits in nicely with the band’s signature sound and will sound great on Zbar’s stage. Fellow Louisville musicians Twenty First Century Fox and Montego will open the event.

New Albany’s Bicentennial Park Summer Concert Series: Nellie Pearl

Last week’s Boomtown Ball kicked off this summer long series across the river in New Albany. Nellie Pearl’s roots sound is made possible through a talented group of musicians. They’re a local band that you should definitely check out if you’ve never seen them live.

    Bunbury Festival

Bunbury’s lineup has been insane the last two years. The headliners are top notch (I mean, The Black Keys, The Avett Brothers and Snoop Dogg?!) but what stands out to us the most are bands a few lines down. Matt and Kim always put on a great show (thinking back to Forecastle a few years ago), Father John Misty is the man and Temples will be great in a festival environment. If you got weekend passes, lucky dog. If not, there are still single day passes available so jump on that.

    Saturday (6/6) -

The Living Room Series presents: Look Homeward and Brent Mathis

Talk about an intimate setting - these shows literally take place in the comforts of a living room…with tacos. Established Louisville artist Brent Mathis opens the evening and the North Carolina-based Look Homeward will wow you with their indie bluegrass jams.
