    Live Music Lou's Can't Miss: March 1-7
    Print this page

If you’ve got the itch, this week is a great week for live music in Louisville. Here we're highlighting some big name national acts as well as supporting our local artists. For location, time and cost, click on the link for each event.

    Tuesday (3/3) -

Rusted Root with Lazy Sunday and PMA

A 90's favorite, Rusted Root is on their 20th anniversary tour. They’ll be joined by PMA out of Long Beach as well as locals Lazy Sunday. Lazy Sunday has had a pretty active 2015 tour thus far and if you like cool, funky odd rock with some sax, then definitely come check them out.

    Wednesday (3/4) -

Teddy Abrams, Ben Sollee, Scott Moore

This Bermuda Highway show quite possibly might be the most interesting and potentially best all around event of the week. Teddy Abrams, the Louisville Orchestra’s director, will be in the small, hip Nulu boutique playing live with Kentucky string masterminds Ben Sollee and Scott Moore. And it’s all free.

Dave and Phil Alvin with The Guilty Ones, Jonah Tolchin, and The Lonesome Angels

Dave and Phil Alvin, fresh off of their Grammy nod, will be at Headliners to highlight their newest work Common Ground.

    Thursday (3/5) -

Sundy Best with If Birds Could Fly

Hailing from Prestonburg, the Sundy Best boys are country at heart but have certainly outgrown their small town. Cajon player, Kris Bentley, is a friend from college so we can’t miss this one.

    Merchandise with Murals

Merchandise is a retro sounding, otherwise hard to categorize band from Florida. Opening for them is an equally hard to describe Louisville band, Murals. Their hazy sound is perfect for a Thursday at Zanzabar.

    Friday (3/6) -

    Iris Dement

Dement, a storied singer/songwriter, will be gracing the KCD Theater stage. This is a true treat for traditional country folk fans.

    Saturday (3/7) -

    Lone Bellow with Odessa

If you got tickets, you are in for a good one. The Lone Bellow has become a Louisville favorite because of their great energy and passionate playing. The melodies and lyrics of both of their albums are very catchy so be ready for some sing alongs.

White Reaper with Anwar Sadat and Scuzzmaster

White Reaper’s last show got a little weird, in the best way possible. Expect the same high energy at Saturday’s show - filled to the brim, ear-blowing music, and maybe even crowd surfing. Anwar Sadat, also a local, will get things started for what is sure to be another crazy night at Zbar.
